How do I host open play?
Updated
Open play is a game you host for players at about the same level. You set up the location, rotate partners, and keep play moving. There is no lesson plan. It repeats every week, and each session has its own signup list.
Create open play
- In your dashboard, open Open play and tap New open play.
- Set a title, the level band, and the format, such as rotating doubles or round robin.
- Pick the day, start time, length, and location. Open play repeats every week by default.
- Set the price per player. It starts at $10, and most open play costs $5 to $20. You can also make it free.
- Publish it.
Open play is for adults. Players see the level band before they sign up.
Where players find it
- Your site. Published open play shows in its own Open play section and on an Open play page. To hide it, go to your site editor and turn off Show open play on your site.
- TeachMe.To players nearby. Turn on Show to TeachMe.To players nearby in the open play editor. Players near you then see it in the Student App and sign up from their dashboard. TeachMe.To takes no fee on these signups.
Run your sessions
- Open a session to see who signed up.
- To message everyone who signed up for a session, send a broadcast from that session.
- If you cancel a session, everyone who signed up gets a full refund.
