After a professional playing career was cut short by injury, I turned my attention to helping others improve and find a love for the game! Growing up in Canada, I competed in tennis throughout my childhood and won the Canadian nationals at age 13! I consistently ranked within the top three in Canada throughout my junior years, which led to a full scholarship to play Division 1 NCAA tennis at the University of Virginia. I competed all four years alongside my identical twin sister – what an experience! After graduating, I realized my passion for tennis and fitness, and now I have over 15 years of experience coaching. I love connecting with, motivating, and helping both juniors and adults achieve their tennis goals. I'm also passing on my love for the game to my two daughters, ages 10 and 13, who are both nationally ranked! They've progressed through red, orange, and green ball and are currently competing in junior USTA tournaments here in Texas. Hi, my name is iLona. I consider myself half Ukrainian and half American, as I literally lived half of the lives in both countries, not to mention all the travels in between. Back in 2009, at 17 years old I came on one way ticket to USA on full right scholarship. I played division 1 schools, first 2 years at McNeese State, and last 2 years at University of North Texas where we won Sun Belt Conference Championship 2 years back to back.
Born in Cincinnati Ohio. Fell in love with the amazing game of tennis and quickly began improving and moved to Florida to train under Rick Macci. (the Williams sisters coach) at the age of 14 I started to work with Tarik Benhabiles who was Andy Roddicks coach from 15 to the age he won US Open at age 18. I reached a career high ranking of 196 in the world ITF juniors. I also was top 20 in the United States in 16s and 18s. Have taught all over the USA. I look forward to helping with your game!
