I have 25 years of experience in tennis—I played at a high level myself and also competed in NCAA Division 1 college tennis. For the past eight years, I have been fully dedicated to coaching. Age 4 to 6 is a great time to start lessons for kids. For children in this age group I recommend 30 minute sessions. Focus of these lessons initially are largely free association play centered around becoming familiar with the ball and racquets and identifying a left of right handed dominance and having fun!
