How to contact your coach?
Updated
Once you book a lesson on TeachMe.To, you can talk with your coach inside the Student App. Ask a question, confirm a meeting point, share preferences, or discuss your goals.
Here’s how to reach your coach:
Message Your Coach Directly
After booking, a chat with your coach appears in the Student App.
You can use it to:
- Ask questions about your lesson
- Coordinate meeting locations
- Share equipment needs or preferences
- Clarify expectations
- Send quick updates before your session
To message your coach:
- Open the Student App
- Go to the Messages tab
- Tap your coach’s name to start messaging
Open and Print Files From Your Coach
Your coach can send you files in your chat, such as sheet music. A file shows as a card with its name, type, and size.
To open a file:
- Open the chat with your coach
- Tap the file card
The file opens on a full screen.
To print a file on iPhone:
- Open the file
- Tap Print
- Choose Print in the menu
To keep the file, tap Save to Files in the same menu.
To print a file on Android:
- Open the file
- Tap Print to open the file in another app on your phone
- Choose Print in that app’s menu
To reply to a file or react to it, press and hold the file card.
Call Your Coach in the App
You can also call your coach from the app, with audio or video. Calls are only for a student and coach who already have a lesson together.
To start a call:
- Open the Messages tab
- Open the chat with your coach
- Tap the phone icon at the top of the chat
- Choose Audio call or Video call
During a call, you can tap Mute, Speaker, or Camera. Either of you can turn your camera on or off at any time. When your camera is on, tap Flip to switch between the front and back camera.
The app needs your microphone for calls, and your camera for video. If you turn off camera access, a video call continues as an audio call. To turn camera or microphone access back on, open your phone’s Settings.
Missed Calls
A missed call shows in your chat as Missed call or Missed video call, with the time. Tap Call back to return the call.
If Your Coach Can’t Take In-App Calls Yet
If your coach’s app can’t take in-app calls, the app offers to ring your coach’s phone instead. Tap the button to call your coach’s phone. The call goes through a TeachMe.To number, so your coach does not see your personal phone number. This needs a valid U.S. phone number on your account.
Why Communication Stays Inside the App
TeachMe.To keeps communication in the app for:
- Privacy (your phone number is never shared)
- Safety (all communication follows platform guidelines)
- Convenience (everything stays attached to your booking)
Your messages stay in your chat history, so our Support team can help quickly if anything comes up.
