How do I send a file in chat?

You can send a file to your student in chat. Send a PDF or an office document, such as sheet music or a practice plan. Your student sees the file in chat and can open and print it in the Student App.

Send a file in the Coach App

1. Open the chat with your student.
2. Tap +.
3. Tap File.
4. Pick a file on your phone.

The app sends the file after you pick it. While it sends, the file card shows Uploading and a percentage. If the upload fails, tap the card to try again.

To open a file in the chat, tap its card.

Send a file on the coach dash

1. Open Messages.
2. Open the chat with your student.
3. Click + in the message box.
4. Click Document.
5. Pick a file on your computer.
6. Click Send attachment.

You can also paste a file or drag it into the message box. Before you send, a preview shows the file name, type, and size. The file sends on its own, separate from your message. To remove the file, click Remove attachment. If the file does not send, click Retry attachment.

Good to know

• Attach one file at a time.
• Files can be up to 500 MB.
• Send a PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, text, or CSV file. If a file is not accepted, a message tells you why.
