Nick will be the new Head Pro at Oakton Swim and Racquet Club and is a USPTA Elite Professional and PTR Level 2 Professional with nearly 20 years teaching experience as a head tennis professional, director of tennis, and varsity tennis coach. Currently, he is Flint Hill’s Assistant Varsity Coach for both boys and girls. He serves on several organizational committees for the USPTA including as the State President of Ohio and the Midwest ELEVATE committee. Nick has received several awards including Lessons.com Top 10 instructor 2020 (Northern Virginia), PTR’s Member of the Year (2013), and was named the Washington Post’s High School Coach of the Year in 2010. He specializes with developing junior tennis players using a progression based format. He believes in developing relationships first. By building positive, trusting relationships, he believes that anyone can learn the game of tennis.

I've had the pleasure of coaching tennis to students of all ages and abilities, fostering their love for the game and helping them reach their full potential. My background as an associate professor and high school teacher has equipped me with exceptional teaching and communication skills, allowing me to build positive relationships with my students. Known for my creative and fun coaching style, I prioritize establishing correct form and technique as the foundation for success. Whether I'm coaching specific skills, game strategy, or mindfulness, I always explain the reasoning behind my suggestions and how they can enhance performance. I'm dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can thrive and develop a lifelong passion for tennis.

I’m a college student with 6+ years of tennis experience, and I keep lessons simple, structured, and easy to follow. I focus on building strong fundamentals while keeping sessions engaging so they never feel repetitive. I’m patient, approachable, and tailor each lesson to the player’s level for a comfortable, productive experience. My goal is for every player to leave more confident and clearly understand what they improved each session!!!
