Tennis has been a lifelong love, with my journey extending to Lafayette College where I was a four-year starter in both doubles and singles. My teaching journey began in high school when I started instructing at local clubs and working as a counselor at tennis camps. Witnessing the transformation and improvement in other players' games is something I find incredibly rewarding. I'm here to help you take your tennis skills to the next level and share in your success on the court.

Chen Chen was hired as the head women's tennis coach at Salem State in 2022. Chen has been the head mens' tennis coach since 2020 after playing for the Vikings for four seasons. A two-time captain of the Salem State men's tennis team. He earned first and second team All-Little East Conference honors three separate times during his career. Chen captained Salem State to just their second Little East Conference Tournament Championship and fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in 2018. His 29 doubles wins currently rank second all-time in program history. A Dean's List member, he was a three-time All-Little East All-Academic selection and three-time National Scholar Athlete Day Award winner. Chen also became the first former player and head coach to win the LEC conference in 2023. Currently live in North Andover, MA.

"Chen has a great attitude and kept the lesson engaging. The lesson didn’t involve a whole lot of constructive feedback or technical pointers, but he gave me some helpful general ideas to work with and fed me lots of balls. It was really fun.

I fell in love with tennis at age 10 or 11. It quickly became the thing I cared most about for the better part of my life. It is a sport for a lifetime, and it will always be my first love. I started teaching tennis in 2011 after earning my teaching certification with the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). It’s always fun to introduce a new player to this game or to work with a player who is passionate about tennis and wants to learn more. I look forward to meeting new students and sharing my passion for tennis with them.

I started playing tennis in Haiti at the age of two. As a junior player, I participated in and won numerous tournaments. During my four years at Brockton High School, I was frequently featured in the Brockton Enterprise newspaper for my achievements. I continued my tennis career at Salem State University, winning two championships and participating in the NCAA tournaments twice. My accolades include being a 4-time First Team All-Conference honoree, and I am currently among the top 10 players with the most games won in Salem State history. I have been coaching for three years, working with players of all levels.

I’m passionate about fostering a love for tennis in players of all ages and skill levels. My decade of experience, coupled with my background as an experienced player, allows me to create engaging and effective training programs tailored to individual goals. As an ambidextrous player, I’m able to demonstrate and coach from both the forehand and backhand sides naturally, which gives students a unique visual and technical advantage when learning stroke mechanics, positioning, and shot development. In addition to tennis, I’ve played hockey and baseball throughout my life, which has given me a deep understanding of athletic movement, discipline, and cross-training techniques. I often integrate elements from those sports—like agility drills, hand-eye coordination work, and strength and conditioning regimens—that translate exceptionally well on the tennis court. Andie has over 15 years of coaching and playing experience. Born in Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to New England in 2011 and began coaching professionally; while also working in Banking and Finance as a Mortgage Loan Officer. She is RSPA/USPTA CERTIFIED NewTennis Player and USTA SafeSport Certified Coach. Wheelchair Accessible Coach. Her tennis game is inspired by the likes of Monica Seles, Venus Williams and Pete Sampras to name a few. She focuses on fun drills with structured sessions to enable personal growth and expanding the reach of the game. Her knowledge comes from decades of playing and teaching alongside all levels of players. She is passionate about sharing the game with everyone!

I was a top 50-ranked tennis player in India before injuries forced me to stop playing competitively after the U18 level. My experience at the national level has given me a deep understanding of the game, both on a technical and strategic level, which I now bring to my coaching. I’m passionate about helping players improve and achieve their best, using the insights I’ve gained from years of high-level competition.
