Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI like to start with the basic rules and the 3 components of the backhand and forehand (backswing, contact, follow through) with drop feeds.
Lesson 11+Ideally we can begin having easy rallies and start working on placement of the ball on your groundstrokes. This may be a good time to start developing your net game as well.
Lesson 4-10In these lessons, we can begin working on your serve by scaffolding it to your ability and comfort level. For groundstrokes, we will focus more on footwork and setup.
Lesson 2-3Here we can start adding some topspin to your groundstrokes and maybe begin feeding from the other side of the net.
What you need to bringIt’s ideal if you have your own racquet but if not, no worries! I’m happy to give suggestions on good racquets to buy if you don’t have your own for our first lesson.
What I can bringI have racquets, tennis balls, and a hopper.
