Hi, I'm Joan Larrazabal, founder of Built by Joan. As an ACE-certified personal trainer, nutrition specialist, and Keiser University Exercise Science Student, I help clients build strong, functional, and sustainable bodies. My coaching blends proven training principles with science-based strategies, prioritizing proper technique, injury prevention, and long-term progress over quick fixes or trends. Whether your goal is building muscle or improving mobility, I am here to guide you.

I’m Gwen — NASM-certified trainer and nutrition coach in West Kendall. I’m 43, I train with a thyroid autoimmune disorder, and I know what a stiff morning and a low-energy day actually feel like. That’s not a credential, but it’s why I coach the way I do. I work mostly with women in their forties and beyond who are tired of starting over. Women who’ve been strong before, or never have, and aren’t sure how hard they’re supposed to push anymore. We build strength that holds — no extremes, no punishment, no all-or-nothing. We start with how you actually move. We work around pain instead of through it. And when life gets complicated, we adjust instead of quitting. You’re not starting over. You’re learning how to continue. Strong. Steady. Sustainable.

"I met Nick this year he was referred to me by my old trainer. He said that Nick was very knowledgeable about working with people dealing with old injuries and wanting to ease back into exercising. I didn’t workout for 5 years and Nick’s workouts have helped me feel stronger and a little younger again. I’m enjoying the journey with him.
