Advanced Players normally have competitive golf goals. These can include making a school team (middle school/high school/college). Coach Nelson's success with competitive players has resulted from not teaching just one swing method, but to develop a player's overall game that will hold up under pressure and for long periods of time. Although juniors many times have hours (if not all day in the summer months) to devote to developing their golf games, as time goes on life demands will always cut into that time. Coach Nelson focuses on working out a Game Development Plan that is efficient and requires the least amount of time possible. This includes finding the simplistic method for each specific golfer. The key to long term success in golf is to develop a swing that is 'Low Maintenance.'

You should bring your own clubs. If you havenβt boughten a set yet and only have access to a few clubs that is fine. A putter, pitching wedge, and 7 iron is all you really need to get started. A large bucket of range balls usually costs around $15-17 so bring a $20 just to make sure!

Kids develop at different rates and at different ages. The focus on coaching beginning juniors is to: 1) Ensure immediate success/immediate 'fun.' 2)Develop a strong foundation by focusing on developing Coach Nelson's 5-Keys and 7 Skills (These are done via instruction, drills (on and off the course) and creating a custom plan for each student.) 3) Getting them comfortable to be on the golf course as quickly as possible.
