Hey! I’m Myles, a surf coach who loves helping kids build confidence and have fun in the water. I got my start teaching at Summer of Surf Camp, where I worked with young surfers learning everything from standing up on their first wave to mastering balance and ocean safety. Since then, I’ve also helped friends and family learn to surf, and I’ve seen firsthand how rewarding it is to watch someone catch their first wave. My goal as a coach is to make surfing exciting, safe, and empowering for every kid—whether it’s their very first lesson or they’re ready to take their skills to the next level. 🌞🌴
I’ve been surfing since I was 5 years old and have traveled all over the world surfing since I was a kid. I grew up in Florida competing in NSSA contests and later went pro before tearing my ACL. Working at summer camps as a water ski instructor and lifeguard, I have experience teaching children water sports. For kids, it is very important to choose equipment and surf conditions that are suitable not only for their age but their skill level and water competency. Just as important though, is making them feel secure and confident throughout the lesson. Therefore it is key that the parent or guardian work with me to tailor the lesson for their child(ren).

Simple instructions are the best ones for all ages but especially kids. I keep high energy and enthusiasm and make the ocean an inviting environment for the kids! Those who are reluctant to get in the water may start their lesson off with me doing some simple body surfing in the white water or just spend time in the shallows so they can acclimate to the ocean.
