I’ve been immersed in the world of singing for over a decade. Holding an AA degree in Vocal Performance, I bring a wealth of experience in singing and the vibrant world of musical theatre. Since 2015, I’ve been sharing my love for singing through voice lessons, helping students discover and refine their unique vocal talents. I also completed the prestigious Voice Teacher Training program at New York Vocal Coaching, founded by Justin Stoney. Currently, I am both a performer and co-founder of Khoái Suy Cảm Production, a vocal group and music performance company based in Orange County. A dedicated and committed pedagogue, Dr. Frey-Monell holds degrees from Columbia University Teachers College, University of California Irvine and Westminster Choir College. Her scholarly research has centered on motivation, self-regulation, and how students learn. Two of her articles have appeared in the NATS Journal of Singing. Dr. Frey-Monell has adjudicated the regional hearings for Classical Singer Magazine's National College Competition and the Utah State Fair Vocal Competition. Locally, she has been an active adjudicator for the Long Beach Mozart Festival, Manhattan Beach School District, Music Teachers Association of California, NATS-Los Angeles Chapter, Southern California Vocal Association and Los Angeles Music Center's prestigious Spotlight Awards.

Anne was born in Massachusettes into a musical family. Her father Frank was a baritone/tenor who sang in many productions for local light opera companies. Early on, Anne’s parents knew they had a singer on their hands. After taking her to see a local production of “Oklahoma” she continued to sing the melodies from the score all the way home. Anne humorously recalls, “At age seven, I wanted to be Shirley Jones.” Her passion for singing led her to pursue a degree in voice and music therapy at Anna Maria College before venturing to California to chase a performance career. While utilizing her degree in music therapy by day, she honed her singing skills at open mic nights, eventually finding her voice in jazz after enrolling at Orange Coast College. Her breakthrough came when she landed her first jazz gig, introducing her to the world of Brazilian music and unlocking newfound vocal freedom. Seeking further education, Anne pursued a Master's degree in music at Cal State Long Beach, where she delved into classical voice training. Embracing her diverse vocal training, Anne transitioned from opera to musical theater, securing lead roles in various productions. With her wealth of vocal knowledge, Anne began teaching voice and joined the faculty at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles. Alongside her teaching career, Anne embarked on a successful music journey, touring nationally and internationally with her husband and collaborator, Tom Zink. Their albums, including "Pretty World" and "Go," garnered critical acclaim and Grammy nominations, showcasing Anne's versatility in contemporary and Brazilian jazz. Anne's dedication to music extends beyond performance, as she has also recorded concept albums of lullabies and sacred music. Her musical journey continues to evolve, with Anne maintaining a busy schedule of performances, teaching, and recording, leaving a lasting impact on the world of music.
