With nearly five years of pickleball instruction and podium finishes at the 5.0+ level, I help athletes of all levels with skill development and strategic thinking. I’m open for one-on-one and group sessions. I can often find you a compatible lesson partner when schedules mesh. I have 25 years of fitness coaching experience with an expertise in injury reduction. I train and work with pickleball athletes on and off court. Pickleball is a footwork sport and I love teaching players the important details — whether it be technique or strategies for on court success. Over 40 years of playing experience and over 20 years teaching experience! I have played tennis since I was 6 years old and I first learned how to play tennis from my parents at an early age. I then began taking lessons from tennis instructors who had many years of playing experience. They brought a wealth of knowledge to me as a junior, which in turn helped me learn and excel as a junior player. I was one of the top 10 junior players in Texas and also competed in all national tennis tournaments around the country. About 2 months after I first started playing pickleball, I entered a tournament and had to register with the USAPA (USA Pickleball Association). On the registration form, they ask you for a nickname, which I entered "Danimal" thinking no one would ever see it. Sure enough, during my first tournament, when being called over the loudspeakers for my matches, the announcer yelled Danimal rather than my first or last name. I was embarrassed and couldn't believe it. However, while walking to the courts, everyone high-fived me and told me they loved the nickname. That weekend, I won a gold medal in Men's Singles, Mixed Doubles, and Men's Doubles completing a Triple Crown in my first tournament. Lo and behold, the nickname has stuck and is now forever

Hi, I'm Coach Henry. Before diving into my background, I want to share my passion for coaching. I am dedicated to helping players refine their game and discover their own love for the sport. As a 4.5 rated Pickleball player with more than a year under my belt, I've built upon my history as a former 5.0 tennis player. I decided to switch to PB for a change of pace and soon made my mark by winning multiple tournaments at the 3.5 level. Our lessons will thoroughly cover both the forehand and backhand techniques, always emphasizing the critical importance of a correct follow-through.
