I had a great experience learning pickleball from Coach Hegong Wei. With their clear and encouraging guidance, I was finally able to improve two areas I used to struggle with — my backhand and my smash. Both shots used to feel awkward , but he broke them down step by step, helped me correct my form, and gave me practical drills to build muscle memory.
I used to lack confidence when switching to my backhand. Thanks to our lessons, I’ve made real progress and feel more well-rounded in my game. Each session was fun, focused, and tailored to my needs. Highly recommend for players who want to grow their skills.
Beginner training plan
Your first lessonPickleball basic rules introduction, explaining how to grab the paddle and make the shot. Easy shot close to the kitchen.
Lesson 11+Keep improving drills including drive, drop, dink, speed-up, volley, counter, serve, return and etc. introducing more game strategies and combine with drill training
Lesson 4-10Continue forehand drive and begin to try backhand drive. Start doing dink at kitchen and try drop hit.q
Lesson 2-3Get familiar with the feeling of hitting the ball. Forehand drive training to improve eye-hand coordination and prediction of ball bouncing.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIn the first lesson, I will ask the student to share a bit about their background with pickleball, racquet sports, and/or other athletic experience, as well as what they hoped to learn or improve. Their responses give me a clear sense of how to jump right into the session and maximize our time together. Throughout the lesson, I continuously assess their skill level and adjust the instruction to match their pace and learning style.
