"Lots of improvement in my play! Very happy

I'm a passionate pickleball coach/player with over 7 years of experience teaching and playing competitively. I consistently play at a 4.5 level to 5.0 and have a strong track record in tournaments. I'm dedicated to continuous improvement and always eager to compete and test my skills against other players. As far as my coaching goes, I am a very supportive teacher to beginners and intermediate players in helping them to learn to play the game, improve their game where they need and give them the skills they require to play at a higher level.

"Great energy. Will book next lesson soon.

Hi, my name is Mahlon and I’m addicted to pickleball! I grew up playing racquet sports like racquetball and ping pong and I’m a former college football player. I’ve been playing pickleball for over a year now and I’ve competed in 9 tournaments so far, with several gold and silvers medals to my credit. I have a patient teaching style, centered on sound fundamentals, and shot mechanics. I can help you avoid the mistakes many beginners make, and have you on the medal podium before know it!

Around five years back, I fell head over heels for this addictive sport after years of USTA tennis. Recognizing the nuanced finesse required in pickleball, I pursued proper training, eager to bridge the gap for players transitioning from other sports. As a senior player, I've found pickleball to offer an incredible workout with less strain on the body. That's why I became a certified coach through the Professional Pickleball Registry, dedicated to teaching the game cohesively and joyfully. Let's smash some volleys and serve up smiles together on the court!

"terrific coach, informed caring and supportive!!!

Fueled by a collegiate athletic background, I bring two years of dedicated pickleball coaching experience to the court. I tailor my instruction to each player, fostering growth and enjoyment in the game.

Currently in Los Angeles (Brentwood) through Oct 26 — booking 1:1 lessons across the Westside: Westwood, Barrington, Memorial Park Santa Monica, Stoner (indoor), La Cienega, Palisades, El Segundo, plus a private Inglewood court with stadium lights. PPR-trained instructor with 3 years teaching beginners and intermediates — fundamentals, positioning, shot selection, movement, consistency, and match strategy, tailored to your game and goals.

"Mo makes things click. Easy explanations, helpful reminders, and clear things to practice. I especially liked his tip about keeping my paddle out in front, creating space, and hitting the ball outside of my front knee/leg. Even simple “cool” and easy to remember things like “shoulder high let it fly,” had allowed me to win more points by learning to leave out balls.
