With children, it’s important to provide inspiration and work according to their learning styles. Some kids learn visually by observing, others learn through asking questions and curiosity. The overlap between different learning styles is a need for patience as well as discipline. Children tend to have short attention spans, but when properly motivated they can stay on task for 30 minutes easily. Rather than boring them with scales and music theory it’s important to show them songs they think are cool. This is the ultimate motivator.
