Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIdentify skill level and realistic obtainable goals. Introduction to how I view the instrument/learn songs. Playing scales and chords (depending on skill level).
Lesson 2-3Reviewing scales and chords from previous lessons. Working on short simple pieces of music or parts of songs. Applying the chords and scales to pieces of music.
Lesson 4-10Identifying a song that the student would like to learn in its entirety. Looking at song structure and sections of a song. Familiarizing the student with the sections and flow of a song. Continuing the review of essential chords and scales but applying them to said piece of music.
Lesson 11+Utilizing musical tools and techniques to not only improvise over pieces of music but start to write their own progressions, harmonies, and melodies. Diving in to more technical concepts/working on speed, accuracy, and inflection.
