Kevin is the lead instructor at Foreplay Simulators which offers Greenjoy Technology. His availabiity at Foreplay Simulators is Sun-Fri mornings and Tues & Wed evenings. Kevin is a Class A PGA Golf Professional with 23 years of experience coaching golfers of all skill levels, from beginners to tour professionals. Originally from Connecticut, Kevin has built a distinguished career in both competitive play and instruction. His passion for the game began in high school, where he won multiple tournaments. He went on to compete at the collegiate level, starting at Mitchell College, where he won the NJCAA Division 3 National Championship. He then transferred to UConn, serving as team captain in his senior year. After college, Kevin turned professional and competed on the Cleveland Golf Pro Tour in New England, further deepening his understanding of high-level competitive golf. For existing golfers, just bring your clubs and desire to learn and improve. For beginners, all you will need to start is a putter and a wedge. Equipment is one of the items of discussion at our introduction phone call or meeting.

In beginning you can just have a basic set of clubs with decent grips. Having the right equipment for your state of learning is important. Get what you can afford at the level you are playing. Once you can hit the ball consistently, we will discuss getting fitted for equipment. That’s a real game changer. Wear comfortable clothes and a glove if you want, shoes should supportive for weight transfer during swing with good traction, otherwise it’s better to swing with bare feet.

The focus on coaching beginning juniors is to: 1) Ensure immediate success/immediate 'fun.' 2)Develop a strong foundation by focusing on developing Coach Nelson's 5-Keys and 7 Skills (These are done via instruction, drills (on and off the course) and creating a custom plan for each student.) 3) Getting them comfortable to be on the golf course as quickly as possible.
