Coach Joël Slagtand - Basketball Coach & Mentor I’ve been passionate about the game of basketball since 1995, when I first fell in love with the sport. That passion has grown into a lifelong commitment—not only to the game itself but to the powerful lessons it teaches on and off the court. With years of experience coaching in the Miami, Florida recreational league within the Jewish community, I’ve dedicated myself to developing players holistically. My coaching philosophy centers around mental performance, creating a championship mindset, and fostering personal growth. I believe in building strong character, encouraging a healthy lifestyle, and using basketball as a tool for life-long wellness and leadership. My mission is to inspire athletes to be their best—mentally, physically, and emotionally—while developing a genuine love for the game.
"The first lesson with Coach Joel was amazing.. He is very personable, understands the game and coached in a way that allowed my 9 year old to see immediate progress. Looking forward to the next lesson. Thank you!
My name is Coach Richardson, I’m a 13 year Collegiate Coaching veteran having coached on many different levels from Junior College up to Division 1 on the men’s and women’s side. I am also a former college athlete. I have tons of experience with personal training for all ages and levels.I want to lead by example in showing players that they must remain positive, work hard and stay focused. I take great pride in being well organized. My passion for the game is what sparks my work ethic. I am naturally driven to coach, train, mentor and support athletes.
"Coach Keith was amazing with my son. He really took his time and showed things he was doing wrong, or just fixing something. My son said he really enjoyed it and would learn another from coach Keith.
With 15 years on the court, I bring a wealth of experience to every training session. My dedication lies in nurturing players' skills while fostering a love for the game. I strive to create a supportive, yet challenging, environment.
With 25 years of basketball coaching, I foster growth in every player. My experience cultivates skills, strategy, and a lifelong love for the game. I provide a supportive and challenging environment for all.
"Antonio Cotton has played a major role in my basketball journey over the years through his training, coaching, and mentorship. His dedication to helping me improve my skills, basketball IQ, and overall game has helped me reach the next level. With his guidance and support, I earned a Division I scholarship to the University of Arkansas, where I’m currently playing under Coach John Calipari.
I have coached club basketball for 6 years, and high school basketball for 3 years at the 6A level in Oklahoma. I’ve been a part of two state tournament teams. I coach to build confidence and to develop skill sets, but I coach kids hard and teach hard.
I have played basketball for 16 years. I have coached youth basketball for two years while actively playing on a collegiate team.
I’ve worked with professional trainer Aaron Miller for the past four years, learning everything about basketball training. I’ve spent each summer in the gym with players from all around the world. I bring a growth mindset to every client and can ensure positive results.
"My son Giles, who is in 7th grade currently, absolutely loved learning basketball with John. He always showed up early with a smile on his face. I would seriously recommend sending your kid to him.
