With a BA in Music Education, an MM in Vocal Performance, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, I bring knowledge and experience to my teaching. As a professional classical singer, I've had the privilege of performing at renowned venues like Carnegie Hall and collaborating with esteemed opera companies. Alongside my performance career, I'm passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians. Hey there! My name is Ian and I am a New York city based Actor, Musician and Teacher! I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BFA in Musical Theatre and have been teaching for about 5 years! I was recently on the first Broadway National tour of the Tony Award winning musical, DEAR EVAN HANSEN. During the pandemic, I founded a youth musical theatre program in the DC/Maryland area called OnCue Theatre which has now impacted hundreds of kids across the DMV and is now one of the top youth theatre programs in the area. I pride myself on creating a safe, personal and exciting work environment for my students where they can explore and unlock the full potential of their voice and musicianship.

Teaching Experience: 5 years The students of Mingyang Ma were admitted to the undergraduate or graduate programs of the Manhattan School of Music, the New England Conservatory of Music, the Cleveland Institute of Music, the Longy School of Music of Bard College, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, as well as the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK and the University of York respectively, and were awarded high or full scholarships.
