As a lifelong musician, I discovered my passion for music early and dedicated my life to honing my craft. From learning piano at 9 to pursuing vocal studies, my journey has taken me from the halls of Xinghai Conservatory of Music in China to prestigious stages worldwide. With a BA in Music Education, an MM in Vocal Performance, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, I bring knowledge and experience to my teaching. As a professional classical singer, I've had the privilege of performing at renowned venues like Carnegie Hall and collaborating with esteemed opera companies. Alongside my performance career, I'm passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians. My son Mason Yan is a student of Ms Xia, and is currently receiving piano lessons from her. Mason has been learning for about 9 months now. Ms Xia is a very good teacher, very patient and knowledgeable. She makes sure Mason is engaging in the lesson and always encourages him to do well. He is making progress each week and performed very well in the winter recital earlier this year. Mason really enjoy getting lessons from Ms Xia and is learning a lot from her.
