I started working with Vernon at Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Club at 72 years old with one simple goal, to learn how to play tennis safely and correctly while staying active and mobile. From the very beginning, Vernon made me feel comfortable and capable. He took the time to break everything down in a way that was easy to understand, and he was always mindful of my pace and physical limits. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed, which made all the difference for me. What I appreciate most is how attentive and patient he is. He focuses on proper technique while also making sure you’re moving in a way that feels safe and natural. Over time, I’ve not only learned how to hit properly, but I’ve also gained confidence on the court and feel stronger and more coordinated in my everyday life. Our sessions have become something I truly look forward to. It’s more than just tennis, it’s about staying sharp, staying active, and enjoying the process. If you’re someone who has always wanted to learn, no matter your age, Vernon is the perfect coach. He meets you where you are and helps you grow from there.

I started training with Vernon when I was 10 years old, and I can honestly say he played a major role in shaping not just my game, but my entire tennis journey. From the beginning, he focused on proper technique and fundamentals, which gave me a strong foundation that stayed with me as I grew. As I progressed, he challenged me, pushed me when I needed it, and always believed in my potential even before I fully saw it myself. Because of his coaching, I went on to make my high school tennis team, became team captain, and eventually earned a tennis scholarship to play in college. Everything built step by step, and looking back, it all started with the discipline and structure he instilled early on. What really sets Vernon apart is that he truly invests in his players. He’s patient, consistent, and genuinely cares about your development on and off the court. That’s why coming back to work with him as an assistant junior pro at Nashawtuc Country Club felt full circle, and it ultimately led me to become a tennis pro myself. If you’re looking for a coach who develops strong players and even stronger confidence, Vernon is the one. I’m beyond grateful for everything he’s taught me.

I came to Vernon as an advanced beginner looking to improve my technique and take my game to the next level. He quickly identified what needed work and broke everything down in a way that made sense. Every adjustment had a purpose, and over time I saw real improvement in my consistency and confidence. Because of his coaching, I now play competitive tennis, which I didn’t feel ready for before. If you’re serious about getting better, Vernon will get you there. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I came to Vernon a little out of shape and honestly just wanting to get back into tennis and finally beat my sister, who was always the better player growing up. Vernon made the process fun and enjoyable from day one. The lessons are a great workout, the music is always good, and he keeps things light with his sense of humor while still focusing on improving your game. With his help, I got back in shape, improved my technique, and I can proudly say I finally beat my sister. I’m already looking forward to the next match. If you want to get better and actually enjoy the process, Vernon is the coach to go to.

I can’t say enough great things about Vernon as a tennis pro. From day one everything was structured in a way that actually made sense. As a beginner I was nervous stepping on the court, but Vernon broke everything down so clearly that I started feeling more confident almost immediately. He’s patient, knowledgeable, and very intentional. Every drill has a purpose and you can really feel yourself improving each session. I also came in with a shoulder injury and that level of care really stood out. Vernon was patient with me, adjusted things when needed, and made sure I was still progressing without pushing me too far. That meant a lot because i felt scared to reinjure myself. What I appreciate most is that he teaches you how to actually play, not just hit balls. By the time I got into match play I understood strategy, positioning, and how to build points. If you’re thinking about starting tennis or taking your game to the next level I highly recommend Vernon. Professional, good music, he’s also funny AND you will see results.
