How do I import a student list?

You can add your existing students in one pass. Import a file or paste a list in the coach dash. You can add contact info later.
Import Your List
- Open Students in the coach dash
- Tap Invite a student
- Choose Import a list
- Drop a file, or paste your list
You can import a PDF, CSV, TSV, or text file. The file can be up to 10 MB.
To import an Excel file, save it as a CSV first. In Excel, choose File, then Save As, then CSV.
Review Each Person
The coach dash shows one card for each person in your list. You can edit the name, phone, and email on each card.
Each card shows a status:
- New
- Needs contact info: the list has no phone or email for this person.
- Has a TeachMe.To account: this person already has a TeachMe.To account.
- Already on your list: this person is already on your Students list.
- Maybe on your list: this person may match a student on your list.
- Can't import: you cannot add this person. The card shows the reason.
People with New, Needs contact info, or Has a TeachMe.To account start checked. People with Already on your list or Maybe on your list start unchecked. Uncheck a person to skip them.
Each card shows how many past lessons go into the student's history. Upcoming lessons do not import. The card shows how many upcoming lessons it skips.
After the Import
When the import finishes, you see:
- How many students you added
- How many students were already on your list
- How many past lessons you added
- How many students need contact info
- How many people you could not add, and the reason
The import does not send a message to anyone.
Add Contact Info Later
A student without a phone or email shows a Needs contact info label in your Students list.
- Open the student
- Find the Add contact info card
- Enter a phone number, an email, or both
Until you add contact info, you cannot message, book, take payment, or use waivers for this student. These actions show the hint Add their contact info first.
If the phone or email already belongs to another account, you see a message. The contact info does not save.
