Growing up in Canada, I competed in tennis throughout my childhood and won the Canadian nationals at age 13! I consistently ranked within the top three in Canada throughout my junior years, which led to a full scholarship to play Division 1 NCAA tennis at the University of Virginia. I competed all four years alongside my identical twin sister – what an experience! After graduating, I realized my passion for tennis and fitness, and now I have over 15 years of experience coaching. I love connecting with, motivating, and helping both juniors and adults achieve their tennis goals. I'm also passing on my love for the game to my two daughters, ages 10 and 13, who are both nationally ranked! "I used to be a defensive tackle (DT) in a NCAA football team. When I first started working with coach Howard, I was 5'10" and 245lbs. I was really committed to tennis. Sometimes I'd drive an hour one way for lessons twice during the weekend. I soaked up everything coach Howard taught me, like a sponge, especially working on my serve and return. After about 9 months, coach suggested I start playing locally instead of driving that distance. I jumped right in and started playing in a 2.5 league. Within 15 months of learning from coach Howard, I was down to 200 pounds. I am 180 pounds now.
