Around 5 years ago I was a freshman playing on my high school's JV2 team. Fast forward 2 years and I was starting virtually every game on Varsity. And I didn't just "get good". I spent countless hours training, figuring out what worked. Now, I'm bringing that experience in my coaching. For the past 2 years I've worked with 5-year-olds who were complete beginners up to more experienced players at the middle and high school level, helping them achieve their goals while having fun. :)
Born and raised in Costa Rica in a family of professional players, I built my soccer foundation early and competed from youth through semi‑pro levels with Sagrada Familia, Limón FC, and Saprissa FC. After injuries ended my pro path, I moved into coaching. I’ve spent over 12 years coaching youth soccer for multiple Wisconsin clubs and hold a U.S. Soccer D License, bringing experience and passion to player development.
"Coach Javi connects with kids instantly and creates an environment where they feel supported, focused, and excited to learn. His coaching is technically sharp, easy to understand, and backed by impressive playing ability — you can see the kids trying to imitate his movements. He’s incredibly easy to work with and brings a positive, calm energy that makes every session better.
As a passionate fan with 20 years of soccer playing experience I love sharing the knowledge of the game with anybody who has interest in learning soccer. I focus both on tactical and physical aspects of the game but the most important part on my teaching lessons is Soccer IQ since modern soccer is more of a mind game than physical game.
