My journey as a Classically trained singer ignited a passion for unlocking vocal potential in others. With 11 years of experience, I guide singers to discover their unique voices. I am currently finishing my Master’s degree in vocal performance and the genres of my expertise are; gospel, jazz, r&b, contemporary and classical/opera. Let's work together to refine your technique and reach new heights!

My passion for singing began at a young age, and I've spent the last five years sharing that passion and helping others discover their own vocal potential. As a seasoned concert performer, I understand the technical demands of singing and the importance of connecting with your audience on an emotional level.

As a nationally recognized vocalist, musician, and artist, I've dedicated over three decades to the art of teaching. With a Master's degree and certifications across various art disciplines, I've had the privilege of instructing in public, private nonprofit, and overseas educational settings. My contributions to the arts extend beyond the classroom, as I've been honored as a lifetime member of Continental Who's Who and have published poetry and co-authored a book in 2022. I'm passionate about nurturing talent and inspiring creativity in my students, guiding them to artistic excellence.
"I really enjoy my voice coach. The material used is so easy. We go over a lot of techniques and tones. My skills have improved tremendously. My voice is stronger and I feel I am ready for the next level. Thanks to Brooks 😀
Throughout my 15 years as a concert performer, I've discovered the power and beauty within every voice. I'm passionate about nurturing that potential in others, guiding students of all levels to discover their unique vocal abilities. Let's unlock your voice's full potential together!

For over a decade, I've dedicated myself to helping singers of all levels unlock their full potential, guiding them from the first tentative note to confident, powerful performances. I believe that everyone has a voice worth sharing, and I'm passionate about creating a safe and encouraging environment where you can explore your musicality and grow as a vocalist.

As a multi-faceted artist, I've had the privilege of exploring various facets of the performing arts, including acting, composing, singing, music, writing, conducting, and educating. From embodying Langston Hughes in Carlyle Brown's "Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been" to portraying Walter Lee Younger in "A Raisin In The Sun," I've shared my passion with audiences at renowned venues like Stage West and WaterTower Theatre. On screen, you may have caught me in episodes of the HBO series "Random Acts Of Flyness." My commitment to social justice led me to perform my one-man show "#BlandJustice" at Dallas' Black Academy of Arts and Letters. My musical journey has taken me to prestigious stages like Carnegie Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Trained at institutions such as Juilliard School and Drew Theological Seminary, I've also shared my knowledge as a voice and piano instructor at esteemed institutions like Booker T. Washington HSPVA. Proudly affiliated with Actors' Equity Association, I continue to strive for excellence in both my artistry and advocacy endeavors.

I graduated from Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing Arts (Arts Magnet), and my journey in the music industry began as a recording artist with Atlantic Records from 1989 to 1993. Following my passion for music, I further honed my skills at Berklee College of Music, where I served as the student director of the Reverence Gospel Ensemble. My career trajectory took me to MCA's K-Ci & JoJo, where I served as the Vocal Music Director from 1997 to 2004. Transitioning to education, I became an instructor at LA Music Academy in Pasadena, CA, from 2004 to 2007. I am the Lead Vocalist for Al McKay's Earth, Wind & Fire Experience, responsible for vocal arrangements, teaching parts, inflections, and creating the perfect blend for the band. As we tour internationally, I continue to share my love for music with audiences worldwide, bridging my diverse experiences from recording to education and live performances. Join me on this musical journey with Al McKay's Earth, Wind & Fire Experience!

"Great personality, very down to earth. She really focuses in on what you need to work on based on your own personal goals and industry standards. Highly recommend

I am an experienced and dedicated vocalist with over eight years of professional singing. My journey in music began at a performing arts school, where I honed my vocal skills and developed a deep appreciation for the art of singing. Throughout my career, I've showcased my talent on various stages, collaborated with fellow musicians, and enchanted audiences with my versatile vocal range. My passion for music goes beyond the notes; it's about connecting with emotions and sharing stories through every melody. Whether it's the soulful tunes of jazz, the powerful notes of rock, or the emotive expressions of pop, I bring a wealth of experience and a commitment to delivering memorable performances. Join me on this musical journey, where every song is a story waiting to be told!

My journey with melodies began at age 5 when I started picking out piano melodies by ear. By 7, I had already embarked on my guitar-playing odyssey. Throughout my musical voyage, I've explored the realms of folk, rock, country, blues, and more, performing in various settings, from churches to clubs. As a singer-songwriter, I've woven my tales into original compositions. Beyond the stage, I hold a Music Practitioner Certification, bringing the healing power of music to hospitals, nursing homes, and hospice settings. Join me, and let's embark on a musical journey together!
"Today I am writing you about a fellow musician I’ve had the pleasure to listen to, perform with and learn from over many years. His name is Jay Wilson. When I first heard him, he was playing with legendary Dallas band Hung Jury. His guitar playing and vocals were pro and his saxophone solos blew the room away. We became friends and sometimes I'd get a chance to get up and sing one with his band. He has always been inclusive and shared his talent and insights with other musicians. We considered him a Jedi musical master. Jay went on to play with many well known and respected bands. I remember going to see him once while he was playing with 60’s icon Donovan Leitch. It was magical evening. They played Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow and the evening culminated with an extended jam of Season of the Witch. I’m sure it’s still playing somewhere in the universe. From traditional Robert Johnson Style Blues to Stan Getz on the Saxophone to the Talking Heads, Jay traverses any genre with tasteful appreciation. Over the years I’ve never hesitated to call Jay for musical advice, emergency musical first aid or continuing education; and he has never hesitated to help. If you get a chance to sit down with Jay and listen to your favorite album, you should do it. If you or anyone you know has an opportunity to study music of any kind with Jay …. DO IT!
