"He's a lot younger than me, but he never made me feel like that was an issue 9r something he even thought about. I play bass primarily but wanted some practical tips and tricks on how to play on guitar. Man, I don't think I'll ever be as good as him, but he taught me it's all just matter of playing and practicing. He's real great guy. Can't think of anything of anything bad to say about him.

David is a very kind and supportive guitar instructor and we're so grateful for a teacher like him. He's always challenging her and helping her become better in her music skills, technique, knowledge, theory, and performance. Greetings! I'm Andrew, a guitarist and educator originally from New Orleans, LA. After graduating from NOCCA in 2008, I studied Jazz Performance and Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, graduating in 2012. Since then, I’ve performed internationally at major festivals and built a professional career in New Orleans, Boston, and New York City. Performances include Blue Note NYC, Billboard Tokyo, Blue Note Nagoya, Jazz Standard NYC, and festivals including Marciac, Panama, Monterey, Puerto Rico, Newport, and Park City Jazz Festivals to name a few. Over the years I’ve studied with world-class musicians such as guitarists Hank Mackie, Davy Mooney, Brian Seeger, Mick Goodrick, as well as other instrumentalists such as pianists Danilo Pérez and Michael Pellera, saxophonists Joe Lovano, David Liebman, drummer Terri Lyne Carrington and more. I draw influence from artists ranging from Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan to Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Charlie Hunter, Toninho Horta, and countless others. As an instructor, I began teaching other kids in my hometown and high school when I was 15 and I never stopped. I work with guitarists at every level—from beginners learning fundamentals to advanced players refining their artistry. My specialties include jazz, blues, rock, funk, R&B, folk, country, and Latin styles, as well as improvisation, chord melody, 7-string jazz guitar, music theory, and recording. My approach balances technical discipline with musical creativity, helping students develop not just skills, but a deeper understanding of the guitar and music as a whole. Whether you're a beginner picking up the guitar for the first time, an intermediate player looking to understand what's going on under the hood with music, or an advanced player looking to refine your skills, gain a new perspective, or prepare for auditions for schools such as Berklee, New England Conservatory, or Juilliard, I look forward to hearing from you!
"I've been wanting to pick up the guitar again for a while, and while I've had a few instructors in the past, I've never really quite stuck with the hobby. I was really impressed with Andrew's attention to detail and how patient he was. I could tell right off the bat that he's a natural teacher because we went over the basics until I was comfortable, such as the parts of the instrument, how to hold and use a pick, and tuning. He was very clear, articulate, and super easy to talk to. I would highly recommend Andrew if you're starting out, need a refresher, or just want top-quality instruction.
As a professional musician for over 31 years, my guitar instruction is tailored to your unique goals. I blend technique with artistry to cultivate a fun and supportive environment for students of all levels. Let's unlock your musical potential together!
"Hey, so far I’d say the lesson on Vultures by John Mayer has been quite helpful, especially since I’m almost done with the song. Still, I think finishing the song properly would make a big difference in my progress. Though I appreciate how Leandroonline guides me through the lesson, I’d like a bit more focus on wrapping up that tune. Curious to see how the final part will turn out, I might just book another lesson soon.

My musical tapestry extends to healing realms, holding a Music Practitioner Certification for uplifting souls in hospitals and nursing homes. "Today I am writing you about a fellow musician I’ve had the pleasure to listen to, perform with and learn from over many years. His name is Jay Wilson. When I first heard him, he was playing with legendary Dallas band Hung Jury. His guitar playing and vocals were pro and his saxophone solos blew the room away. We became friends and sometimes I'd get a chance to get up and sing one with his band. He has always been inclusive and shared his talent and insights with other musicians. We considered him a Jedi musical master. Jay went on to play with many well known and respected bands. I remember going to see him once while he was playing with 60’s icon Donovan Leitch. It was magical evening. They played Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow and the evening culminated with an extended jam of Season of the Witch. I’m sure it’s still playing somewhere in the universe. From traditional Robert Johnson Style Blues to Stan Getz on the Saxophone to the Talking Heads, Jay traverses any genre with tasteful appreciation. Over the years I’ve never hesitated to call Jay for musical advice, emergency musical first aid or continuing education; and he has never hesitated to help. If you get a chance to sit down with Jay and listen to your favorite album, you should do it. If you or anyone you know has an opportunity to study music of any kind with Jay …. DO IT!

Together, let's uncover the nuances of guitar and piano, creating harmonies that resonate with your musical aspirations.

I hold an AAS in Guitar Performance and am a few credits shy of a BA in Music from UTA. With over 19 years of teaching experience, I've shared my passion with students of all ages and styles. Currently, I weave melodic tales as the guitarist for La Pompe Dallas (Gypsy Jazz), the upright bassist for Justin Pickard and the Thunderbird Winos (Best Americana Dallas 2023) and The Vinyl Stripes (Rockabilly & Surf). My musical journey spans classic rock, blues, bluegrass, country, swing, gypsy jazz, rockabilly, and more. Jazz Pianist Bernard Wright mentored me as a bassist in his Jazz trio for several years. I explored diverse instruments like piano, clarinet, mandolin, dobro, oud, and African percussion. Songwriting is a forte, having been a finalist in Dallas contests. In addition to music, I once designed Media Matrix audio gear for Peavey Electronics but chose the path of playing and teaching music over-engineering. Join me for an enriching musical experience – let's dive into the world of melodies and harmonies together!
"Mark teaches me how to play my favorite country tunes by people like Luke Combs, Tyler Hubbard and Drew Green. He just listens to the song, writes some chords down and teshows what new things I need to learn, then brings the chords with words in next week. He helps me learn strumming patterns and simplifies any chords or rythms that are too hard or frustrating.

"We are glad to have Pepe teaching guitar. He is not only an incredible musician but also a wonderful person to know. We appreciate his approach to making the lesson fun for our student but also strong in music theory and reinforcing the underlying reason why the music is played the way it is. Highly recommend.
