I went on to earn both my Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Music (Jazz Concentration). Along the way, I struggled with bad habits, self-doubt, and the urge to compare myself to others—until a mentor shared three life-changing lessons that still guide me today: "Never compare yourself to others." There will always be someone ahead of you and someone behind you. Music isn’t a competition—it’s about growth, expression, and lifting others up alongside you. "Don’t expect too much too fast."
