"Took my very first ever lesson with Andrew. He was clear and very insightful with his instructions. He gave me exactly what I was looking for in a coach. I came away with drills and techniques that I can work on at the range. Rather than just hitting balls. I’m look forward to our next lesson and improving my game.

Welcome to Golf Lessons by coach Kollar, where passion meets precision. Mile Square Golf Club in Fountain Valley is my home course, where I’ll often be found, sharpening & working on my game. As a trained golf instructor, I specialize in offering a personalized swing and short game lesson in golf. Whether you're a beginner, eager to learn the basics and fundamentals of the game, or intermediate player aiming to refine your overall golfing ability, the lessons I implement are designed to enhance your overall golf game, while most importantly helping you to enjoy the time you spend practicing. As a graduate of Golf Academy of America, Carlsbad, California (unfortunately no longer in business), I studied the golf swing, psychology of golf, and complex teaching methods as well as golf game management. I also learned how to build and assemble golf clubs, as well as expanding my knowledge on the vast and complex rules of golf. During my 2 years at GAA, beyond my studies, I competed at a collegiate level, making the competitive Golf Team each semester I attended. I came to understand that there are no two identical golf swings. My job is to influence you to find the mechanically correct way to improve your swing and develop your short game, to help you enjoy golf more than you ever have!

"That lesson sparked a fresh grip change and clear goals, plus I can feel the swing staying steadier. A few head-still, weight-shift drills will really lock it in, and I’m excited to continue.

Below are some of my swings and swings I have coached. Message for Junior rate.

"I’ve taken a few lessons with Jacob now and my swing has only improved. What I liked most is he helped me understand how to generate more power in my golf swing, which is something I’ve been wanting to improve on as an 51 year old golfer, and also how to get it out without putting strain on my body. He does a great job dumbing down concepts for someone like me to understand i.e. making analogies to other sports and for me that helps a lot since I did not grow up playing golf.

Driven by a lifelong passion for the game, I've spent the last 25 years helping others unlock their golfing potential. As a former D1 athlete, I bring a unique understanding of the game's complexities and provide personalized guidance to golfers of all levels. "As someone who has never taken a golf lesson before, I wasn’t sure what to expect—but you made the entire experience incredibly comfortable from the start. Being a family friend, I thought I might feel a little awkward or out of place, but it was the complete opposite. You were professional, patient, and surprisingly good at explaining things in a way that made everything feel simple and doable. I appreciated how you broke down the basics without overwhelming me, and how you gave feedback that was encouraging rather than intimidating. What really stood out was how natural the lesson felt—like learning from someone I trust, but still getting the kind of quality instruction I’d expect from a seasoned coach. By the end of the session, not only did I feel more confident in my swing, but I actually understood what I was doing and why. For a first lesson, that meant a lot. Thanks for making the experience such a positive one. I walked in unsure and walked out excited to keep learning—couldn’t ask for more from a coach or a friend.

"The lesson was quite helpful, especially as John was straightforward and engaged throughout, which I appreciated. Still, I think there's room to explore more drills next time to really refine my putting.
