I am from Hillsboro, Oregon, and I've been immersed in pickleball for over three years. What drew me to the sport is its perfect blend of athleticism and social interaction. As a court ambassador for the past two years, I've worked closely with true beginners, helping them discover the joy of pickleball. I always find ways to connect with them! Knowing how and when to progress drills to be more challenging and regressing them to permit greater success sets me apart from other coaches. I finish my lessons with games to apply what we learned and to allow students to use their creativity to problem solve. Early ages, the emphasis has to be on fun to keep them going. As my students mature, we focus more on building confidence competing. My older students provide notes for us to improve their level of competition in real matches.
