As a top 500 ITF player and 11 UTR competitor representing Saint Joseph’s University in Division 1 tennis, I bring plenty of experience and passion for the game to my coaching. I have coached players from different levels in London, UK and USA for the past 2 years. My coaching is prepared to meet the unique needs of players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced competitors. I am dedicated to helping each player get better with each session. I’m passionate about fostering a love for tennis in players of all ages and skill levels. My decade of experience, coupled with my background as an experienced player, allows me to create engaging and effective training programs tailored to individual goals. As an ambidextrous player, I’m able to demonstrate and coach from both the forehand and backhand sides naturally, which gives students a unique visual and technical advantage when learning stroke mechanics, positioning, and shot development. In addition to tennis, I’ve played hockey and baseball throughout my life, which has given me a deep understanding of athletic movement, discipline, and cross-training techniques. I often integrate elements from those sports—like agility drills, hand-eye coordination work, and strength and conditioning regimens—that translate exceptionally well on the tennis court. I come from a long line of golfers with ancestors who were pros in Scotland. I honed my skills in West Chester, PA, and later in South Florida, earning a single-digit handicap. In 2012, my son and I founded Imagen Golf to make golf dreams come true. I've written a best-selling golf book, hosted the Imagen Golf Podcast, and invented the "Pure Putt Grip." I've learned from top golf minds like David Leadbetter and Butch Harmon, and my coaching philosophy is centered on individuality and a skills-based approach. As a Top 100 Coach, #1 Golf Instructor in PA and certified teaching pro, I'm passionate about growing the game. I also provide virtual lessons from my indoor studio. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Coach Bryan Hughes developed his love for tennis through Philadelphia’s parks and recreation programs. Today, he brings more than 35 years of teaching and coaching experience to players of all ages and ability levels. Bryan’s coaching career includes six NJCAA national team championships with Tyler Junior College and six individual Rolex National Champions. He has also coached USTA national champions in junior, adult singles, doubles, and team competition; Texas high school state champions in singles, doubles, and team play; a Little Mo National Champion; and NJTL singles, doubles, and team champions. A graduate and former instructor of the Tyler Junior College Tennis Tech program, Bryan has directed community and country club programs in Florida and Texas and served as a summer coach at Stanford University. His experience also includes working as a USTA adult and junior league coordinator and as a USTA- and ITF-certified umpire. Bryan returned to his Philadelphia roots to establish JETI Tennis LLC in 2008 and the South Philadelphia Tennis Association in 2010. SPTA became a USTA Premier Provider and was recognized as the USTA Middle States Community Tennis Association of the Year. Bryan has also served as a USTA Middle States committee member. Throughout his career, Bryan has remained committed to making high-quality tennis instruction accessible, practical, and enjoyable—especially for players and families who discover the game through their local community.
