I was always an underdog and in high school two other guys had catching spots locked up and I had already tried pitching with success when they ran out of pitchers in my town league so I told the coach ( after taking to my dad , my mentor of sports ) and he let me try and cut me and told me I couldn’t break a pane of glass . Thst summer I struck out 7 of 9 batters in the all star game for my town league and sentior year he kept me however only pitched me in catholic league games and I had a 0.9 era yet he would not pitch me in the games that mattered ?
