I specialize in providing individualized instruction tailored to each student's learning needs, using engaging, evidence-based strategies to support growth in reading, and study skills. I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment where every student can succeed.

I view the court as a classroom; for 20 years I have taught basketball to players of all levels, blending technical fundamentals, tactical insight and tailored training. I deliver patient, disciplined instruction rooted in competitive experience to build skill, confidence and passion for the game. Hoop Season proudly operates in both Colorado and North Caroline . Hi, My name is Miss Blakeney. I am a retired elementary school teacher with 33+ years of experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and I hold a masters degree in elementary education. I am also certified in the state of North Carolina to teach K-6. I have tutored students in person and online. I am versatile in technology. I love teaching and watching students progress in their learning.

Currently I’m Coaching as the Varsity/JV D-Line Coach at North Mecklenburg Hs. I am the JV defensive coordinator as well. I’m dedicated to helping athletes reach their full potential. I’ve played for Team USA and in the Blue-Grey All American bowl while in high school. My college career began at Lenoir-Rhyne University and concluded at Coastal Carolina University. Michael Daniel is a Charlotte-based coach and former pro player (Nationals, Braves, Rockies) with a 13-year career. A 7th-round MLB draft pick out of UNC Chapel Hill, he served as Outfield & Baserunning Coordinator for the Chicago White Sox. He holds degrees from UNC and Georgetown and is NASM-PES certified. Michael delivers personalized, development-first instruction in hitting, baseball IQ, and mental performance for youth to advanced players chasing the next level.

My specialty is small-scale/one-on-one Elementary and Conversational Mandarin Chinese (although any level is acceptable). I find it important to work directly work directly with the strengths and weaknesses of the student--for example--certain students at lower levels of the Chinese language will require a special focus on aspects such as tones, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and should be worked with closely to improve these aspects of the language in order to build a strong foundation.

I have been an educator for 27 years and hold a Masters degree in Elementary Education with 30+credits in Curriculum & Instruction. I have my Bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I am a licensed teacher in NY, NJ, NC, SC, and FL. It is my life’s purpose & passion to work with children and alongside parents, as we partner in equipping all children toward success personally, academically and socially.

Coach Theo Schaffer is more than a basketball coach—he’s a mentor, educator, pastor, and leadership developer with 20+ years of experience helping young athletes grow in skill, confidence, character, and purpose. Every training session combines elite basketball fundamentals with accountability, discipline, and mindset coaching to help players succeed both on and off the court. My goal isn’t just to develop better players—it’s to help raise better leaders, teammates, and young men and women.
