I have performed as a concerto soloist with the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra, and I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan, where I studied with Amy Porter. I am a substitute flute/piccolo player for the Macomb Symphony Orchestra, Adrian Symphony Orchestra, Billings Symphony Orchestra, and Oakland Symphony Orchestra. I am the founder of a 501(c)3 non-profit entitled the Flute Pedagogy Project, which focuses on creating and distributing free and level-appropriate curriculum to beginner and intermediate flute players. From crafting lyrical melodies to mastering technical finesse, I have dedicated the last 3 years to guiding flutists of all levels. Together, we'll build the foundational music theory and flute skills you need to be a flexible and thoughtful flute player able to easily play with others.
"Thank you so much again for the opportunity to perform with you! It was so fun and I loved listening to the rest of your recital, you sounded incredible!

Sherwood Kwame Reece, a.k.a. Q, stepped into the ring at Starrett City Boxing Club as a teen, having falling in love with exercise and learning from the late Jimmy O’Pharrow, and later former Olympian Reggie Ford to become a professional boxer. I taught at the Aerospace High Performance Center under legendary Michael Olajide Jr. My specialities are holistic wellness, nutrition and injury prevention. I trained a Golden Gloves champion, movie celebrities, and appeared in TV shows such as White Collar Brawlers season two and ABCNews.com. “There’s no better workout than boxing. To be able to last in the ring, you have to be in top shape. Develop your mental readiness and physical ability to combat potential attackers. Through the repetition of simple yet effective techniques in increasingly difficult situations, you will be empowered to face—and not fear—challenges. Workout will include basic strengthening and conditioning, skill development, and application of skill in real-life situations.
"Not just a coach but a teacher

Jose Franco is a baseball coach who blends old-school fundamentals with modern-day mindfulness. With decades of coaching experience and a deep appreciation for the mental and mechanical aspects of the game, Jose focuses on developing athletes both on and off the field. His coaching philosophy centers around core baseball fundamentals—sound mechanics, situational awareness, and relentless attention to detail—while challenging players to grow mentally and emotionally through intentional self-reflection. What sets Jose apart is his belief that baseball is more than just a sport—it’s a platform for personal growth. Drawing from his book, The Power of Now in Baseball, Jose helps athletes confront weaknesses, embrace discomfort, and cultivate present-moment focus. His process includes visualization drills, mindfulness practices, mechanical breakdowns, and a unique communication system that fosters trust, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement. Whether you're a hitter working on pitch recognition or a pitcher learning to reset after a bad inning, Jose uses a 9-set development process designed to elevate your physical game while sharpening your mental edge. His book, The Power of Now in Baseball, is available for free at stoopjuice.com—regardless of whether you purchase a lesson. It serves as the foundation of his coaching approach, emphasizing growth over outcomes, process over perfection, and awareness over anxiety.
"I coached Jose when he played for Youth Service in the 80s - I was his 16u coach the same year he played for Mel Zitter’s 18u team. In 2008 Jose was my pitching coach at Morris High School where we won the PSAL City Championship. As someone with over 50 years of baseball experience I am humble in recognizing I too continue to be a student of baseball. As a teacher nothing makes me more proud than when one of my former students becomes my teacher. Jose is one of these students who’s ability to communicate in a constructive manner I’ve incorporated into my own coaching style.
