I began playing golf after working at a summer camp in the late 90’s. I signed up to coach basketball, but the Bulls were in the Finals again, so by the time I got to camp, the only sport left to coach was golf, and I had zero playing or coaching experience in that sport. I had been an athlete all my life and a coach for almost a decade by that point, so I figured, “How hard can it be?” I found out quickly it was very hard, but also challenging in a way that kept me completely compelled to learn. I spent that summer learning the game from 10 year olds. We would drive over to the local course in rural Pennsylvania nearest the camp in the late afternoon, the sun getting low as we’re out there laughing and having a blast, usually at my expense. I vividly remember my mind being blown at the concept of hitting down, to make the ball go up. Fascinating! I got hooked, came home after camp, jumped into any and everything golf; Tiger Woods, Dave Pelz, Rick Smith, David Ledbetter, Golf Channel, etc., etc. I got pretty good quickly, played all over the place, signed up to attend a golf instructor school in 2002 and the rest is history. I’ve given thousands of lessons coast to coast, including Maui, Scottsdale, NYC, San Diego and even Tijuana. I have a deep knowledge of the game and swing mechanics, combined with a sincere passion to help anyone of any ability learn the game I have come to love so much. I started playing pickleball 3 years ago and I play almost every day in advanced level open play and ladder sessions. I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to go from not knowing how to play to being a solid pickup player who can play in advanced level games. I still know exactly what it’s like to be a brand new beginner and trying to figure out the game especially all the rules. My coaching style is easygoing and I try to keep the lessons light hearted so everyone feels welcome and comfortable. I like to use a mix of drills and gameplay with real time instruction and feedback during my lessons. A group of 3 or 4 students makes for a great class because I can play a doubles game with you while teaching you how the game works. I primarily ride short boards, ranging from thrusters to twin fins, but I also have experience with longboarding and other alternative shapes. As an avid surfer, I hit the waves daily whenever conditions are good. Over the past 5 years, I've enjoyed teaching many friends how to surf and sharing my passion and knowledge of the sport.

Recently relocated from Seattle to San Diego, Will is excited to share his passion for tennis with players of all levels. Off the court, he works in marketing, professional photography, and music production as a DJ.

My diverse background includes directing tennis programs at prestigious locations like the Four Seasons in Marrakech and Kasbah Tamadot in Morocco and well known clubs and organizations such the Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis Program in Philadelphia, R.U.C and C.O.C in Casablanca, Morocco and many others. My passion for this amazing sport is contagious !
