I’ve been playing pickleball for four years and coaching for three, with consistent experience competing in tournaments. I’m on the court nearly every day and stay closely connected to the local pickleball community, especially in the Arlington area. Sports have always been a core part of my life—including basketball, soccer, and table tennis—but pickleball stands out as the most engaging, strategic, and social game I’ve played. As a coach, I combine drilling with live play, working alongside my students to develop solid shot mechanics, sharpen strategy, and improve decision-making under pressure. Beyond lessons, I help players plug into the local pickleball scene so they can continue progressing through games, leagues, and community connections. I’ve had 3 lessons with Paul and I’m going to sign up for more! I came to him as a 3.0 player looking to improve my game with better offense. He has worked with me on topspin, speedups and roll volleys which have all been terrific! He also had a drill to specifically increase my aggressiveness. He is patient and will work with you on what you want to learn as well as point out areas of weakness. He gave me some great wall drills to practice between sessions. I couldn’t recommend Paul more highly for the intermediate player!!

PJ is an amazing coach! I have taken over 20 lessons with him (individually and as a group), and I have gotten more than I could have ever expected out of the lessons. He’s very knowledgeable, and he explains pickleball concepts in a way that is easy to understand. He also creatively makes modifications as needed in drilling exercises and in recreational games to even out the level of play between all players. I’d say the lesson gave me some useful pointers, especially on my serve placement and positioning, which I hadn’t really thought much about before. Still, I think I could benefit from more drills to really feel comfortable applying what was covered. Paul was quite clear and patient, though, and I’m hopeful that with continued practice, I’ll improve my game for open play. Would probably consider trying another lesson to keep that momentum going.
