With a great background as an instructor and a player, Max brings his expertise and passion to the court, helping you to improve your Pickleball game. Max Johnson was born and raised in the Johnson County area with a passion for sports. In 2020, Max found the incredible sport of Pickleball. His pickleball passion grew quickly and before he knew it, he was playing everyday for multiple hours. Along the way he decided to show others; teaching friends, family, and now everyone under the sun.
"Max was able to provide a well rounded overview of pickle ball in our hour session. I believe I could walk into an open game and not embarrass myself too bad. However, I plan to continue lessons with Max. I would prefer having some more lessons before I go out on my own, His enjoyment of the game is contagious and he’s a great instructor .

I love helping others improve their game and find new techniques and strategies to be the best player they can be! I’m all about making the experience specific to the learner and try my best to meet the expectations and desires you have for the lessons. I also strive to create a fun environment, working hard at improving your game, and getting in some good exercise. I hope to see you on the courts! I prefer to work only with women, couples, and kids.

A recent graduate of the University of Missouri Parks, Recreation, Sport and Tourism Master's Program, I did my Research Project on pickleball court management for Columbia Parks and Recreation Department, presenting my research for the Missouri Parks and Recreation Association (MPRA) Conference. I've competed in at least nine pickleball tournaments, including the largest pickleball tournament in the state of Missouri of it's time (The SEMO Chemo Smash). I love pickleball and I love coaching.

Meadowbrook Park offers 8 free outdoor hard pickleball courts with permanent lines/nets, lights, restrooms, water. Open 7am-10pm daily except program reservations Mon/Tue evenings.
