About DerrickI’m Derrick, an 20 year old 5.0+ Pickleball player (Playing in APP/PPA pro qualifiers soon!) based out of South Florida! In the past I’ve played tennis, table tennis, badminton, as well as a couple of other sports. I have coaching experience from tennis and bowling. But I want to teach the sport I’m most interested in, Pickleball! Excited to get on the court together. Heads up! Although I did do commercials Professor Pickleball. I specialize in developing a solid and well thought out game. Although the process is slower early on, the better you get the easier it will be to get better! My best shots are my drops/resets and my backhand flicks. And my playstyle is a very shifty “joker” style of play. I had the pleasure of taking Pickleball lessons with Arthur during my recent stay in Pompano Beach, Florida—and I can honestly say he exceeded every expectation. Between sessions, he went the extra mile by sending me videos with techniques, drills, and game strategies I could practice on my own. That level of investment in my growth meant the world. On top of it all, Arthur is simply a wonderful human being—fun, kind, and someone I truly enjoyed spending time with. I left each lesson feeling more confident and inspired. It was bittersweet to wrap up our time together, but I already know I’ll be booking more lessons with Arthur next year when I return to Florida. Arthur gave me great reminder tips to let some lobs bounce and hit at apex, follow through on each dink shot, don’t aim for outside line but a few feet in for cushion, do not force shot behind player rather in front at feet,, bend knees on all shots.. He also took video of my play and gave extra time. Great job!
