What students say...

"Sam shows how to hit the ball for every stroke and explains it right with the biomechanics / how to swing. He explains where to position yourself, how to hit the ball, how spin affects the trajectory path of the ball. I've learned a ton.

Today’s lesson really built on the fundamentals we put in place during prior lessons. Also, the video recording you made helped me visualize what I am doing well and what I need to work on. I will be out of state until mid September and look forward to continuing our lessons then. I also appreciate your perspective and explanation around your interactions with Diane. She asked me if it would be OK to combine her lesson with mine this week and I take full responsibility for not immediately shutting this down. She also had some difficulty navigating the app and I wasn’t able to

I found the lesson on dinking purposefully quite helpful, especially as someone still working on control at the net. Though I wasn't expecting such a focus, it really clarified how intentional dinking can set up the whole point. Kal's approach made me think differently about those softer shots, and I left with some practical ideas to try next time I play. Still, I hope to get more comfortable with the rhythm, but I’ll definitely stay optimistic about improving my finesse on those shot placements. If you're into refining your pickleball strategy, it’s worth giving Kal a shot.

The lesson was quite useful in reinforcing the fundamentals from previous lessons, which made me really realize I need to trust the process and techniques more, though I still see room for improvement. Kal's approach helped reinforce core skills, and I appreciated that, but I think I’d benefit from continued practice to really internalize what we worked on. Still, I’m hopeful that with some repetition, I’ll get more comfortable applying these techniques during play. If you're looking for a coach who emphasizes fundamentals, you might want to give Kal a try.

My lesson with Kal was great! I always walk away with new pointers to work on! I appreciated how he explains everything clearly, making complex ideas easier to grasp. Though I still need to work on my serves and dinking, I feel more aware of hitting in front of my opponent’s reach and maintaining a good arch. That lesson gave me useful insight into technique, and I’m hopeful I can develop those aspects further with practice. If you're looking for someone who genuinely breaks down pickleball skills without overloading, Kal’s a solid choice to try out.

The lesson focused on practical gameplay and strategy, which I found quite helpful, especially for making better decisions during matches. Kal explained concepts clearly, and I felt more confident about my shot placement and court awareness after. Though I still have room to improve, this lesson definitely set a good foundation for continued growth in pickleball. Still, I think more targeted decision-making drills would really boost the experience. Anyway, I think it’s 100% trying Kal if you want a thoughtful approach to the game.

Oh, Kal's lesson was quite helpful, especially with shuffling and the wrist breaks. The focus on switching drops and backhand dinks really clarified some movements I’d struggled with before. Though I still need to work on resetting my ready position smoothly, I definitely feel more confident. Still, I think a future lesson could help me really lock in those techniques and improve my reflexes overall. If you’re into refining your pickleball skills, I’d suggest giving Kal a shot so you can experience the benefits firsthand.
