He always took time to explain the theory as well as transcription and performance. To make sure the lesson is learned in detail, he makes notes of what is covered in class and what needs work for both the solo piano pieces as well as trio. He transcribes any song genre but made sure my son learned the jazz standards. All these notes and transcriptions were given to my son each class, as well as a CD recording gift at the end of each year.
