I have been playing golf for 20 years and have been teaching for 5 years. I Enjoy getting people to learn new skills, especially if it is a skill they are struggling with. My proudest golf achievement has been shooting a 71 at Poppy Hills. My favorite golf course is Torrey Pines. When I am not teaching or playing golf, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, and playing the drums.
"Great lesson

I’ve been golfing for over 30 years and as I grew older I’ve learned to maximize what I have. I’m 5’6” and though I consider myself an athlete, I do believe a good swing can be achieved by good fundamentals and what I call positioning. By ingraining certain aspects of a swing, we can continue to improve by doing. I’m just a low-handicap golfer who want to teach average golfers good fundamentals as a takeaway, so you can start to improve on your own. I’m not a teaching professional, but I was a design instructor at an art school for over 17 years, I hope I can make improving your golf game fun.
"Very helpful, great new technique and easy going with lots of patience!! Truly appreciate that from a coach!! Thank you!!!

Michael grew up in Cape Town, South Africa and started playing golf from a young age. He went to university in Georgia and after a decent college career turned pro and played the mini tours in Florida, then the Australian tour and South African Sunshine tour. After a couple of years as a playing professional, he went through the PGA training in the UK and became a teaching pro at Blackmoor GC in Southern England. Michael then took a job with well renown European Tour teacher, Jamie Gough at this golf school in Cape Town. Michael worked there for 3 years before moving to Europe and spending 8 years teaching in Germany and Switzerland before moving to America. Michael also spent time caddying/managing on the European Tour in the 2005, he has done 3 TPI classes through the Titleist Performance Institute as well as many other classes, courses to grow his knowledge. Michael enjoys teaching players of all skill levels from beginners to tour players. Michael still plays a lot of golf and you can find him tinkering with his swing or playing a variety of courses in his free time. He also loves to cook and explore the beauty of Northern California.
"Just finished my first lesson with Michael - can’t recommend him strongly enough. Great coach, very patient and knowledgeable.

I help beginners and improving golfers build confidence, learn golf fundamentals, and make focused progress from the first lesson onward. Whether you are new to the game or working toward lower scores, I can tailor our time to your goals, including driving, irons, wedges, course management, and on-course decision-making. I am a single-digit handicap golfer with 12 years of playing experience, and I compete as part of my high school team. I have been trained by PGA Championship winners and multiple Division I coaches. Using advanced data metrics from my FlightScope launch monitor, I help connect your swing, ball flight, and measurable results so we can identify clear areas to work on. I teach online and in person at Moscone Park Golf Practice Area, Presidio Golf Course, and TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, as well as Pruneridge Golf Club in Santa Clara. I provide clubs, equipment, balls at hitting bays, and a launch monitor. Range balls and course fees are paid by the student onsite. Bring your clubs if you own them and a good attitude.
"I've had the pleasure of working with Brock for a few months now and have improved from a 22hcp to a 16hcp. He has been great in terms of reinforcing proper fundamentals in my technique but also tailors instruction to my swing, which I greatly appreciate. Highly recommend Brock to anyone looking to improve!
