As a native New Yorker with roots in the vibrant Harlem and Long Island jazz scenes, I've been immersed in the world of jazz and blues guitar since childhood. Renowned for my live performances and studio work, I'm also a skilled producer, arranger, and songwriter, with an upcoming album featuring originals and covers.

Music has been my lifelong passion, and for 19 years I've had the privilege of sharing that passion as a guitar instructor. I'm a seasoned guitarist with 30 years of experience, having performed professionally and honed my craft throughout the years. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and love for music with aspiring guitarists of all levels. Let's embark on a rewarding musical journey together! Gary Rosenak is a guitarist, composer, educator based in New York City. He holds a BA, in Jazz Guitar Performance from Wichita State University, Masters of Music in Jazz Studies, and Advanced Certification in Teaching from NYU. He has studied guitar privately with: Peter Bernstein, Mike Moreno, and Wayne Krantz, and has studied composition and arranging privately with Gil Goldstein and Alan Ferber. Gary is an accomplished guitar instructor with 10 years of teaching experience who enjoys working with students of all ages and levels, and he cultivates a passion for music, and playing guitar through individualized tailored lessons. He has taught as an adjunct guitar instructor at New York University, and also served as a Volunteer virtual guitar instructor for Guitars4Vets, which provides music therapy healing through the joy of learning music for Veterans dealing with PTSD. Gary served as Guitarist/Band Leader and Musical Director for the US Air Force Bands in Northern California and Japan, where he also produced four Rock/Pop CD recording projects for the Air Force. Gary also performed weekly as a versatile guitarist, playing jazz, R&B and rock in the house band at the Silverado Resort in Napa, CA for over nine years. As part of the Air Force Band, Gary toured extensively in the United States, Europe, and Japan, as well as performances in Korea, Singapore, Turkey, and Bangladesh. He has also performed in such prestigious venues as the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Dresden Opera House and the Blue Note, NYC. Gary continues to perform jazz trio gigs and solo guitar gigs around NYC.

For 15 years, I have been studying, playing and performing guitar, all around the world! I have toured and gigged professionally at a multitude of venues and festivals. I was educated at Berklee College of Music and blend a thorough grounding in music theory and concepts with real-world experience playing in bands, as a front-person and as a supporting guitarist live and in the studio! Guitar repair technician by day , I’ve worked for places like Southside guitars (vintage repairs), Guitar center lead repair technician (6 years). Raritan bay guitar repair(NJ /NY). I’ve played very successful shows and generated money for large CUNY funded disaster relief shows and played local shows for many metal bands. I can teach you more than just playing guitar I can show you how to maintain it and record your art into the real world. CUNY certified audio. Engineering experience. Pro tools is my main recording DAW of choice.
