In the first lesson, we focus on helping kids feel comfortable and excited about tennis. We will introduce the basics, such as racket grip, simple forehand swings, stance, and fun activities like bouncing the ball on the racket to build coordination. The goal is to keep it light, fun, and encouraging while setting a strong foundation.
In these sessions, we prepare kids for friendly match play. Theyโll learn simple strategies like positioning and aiming shots, along with fun new skills like slicing. Through match practice, theyโll develop confidence, improve coordination, and enjoy the game as they progress.
These lessons are about skill-building and confidence. We focus on improving forehand and backhand strokes, introducing volleys and the overhead smash, and practicing serves more consistently. Kids will learn shot placement and play short games to make learning fun and prepare them for real play.
During these lessons, we review the forehand and introduce the backhand stroke. Kids will practice short rallying and basic footwork to improve their movement. We also start teaching the fundamentals of serving, such as tossing the ball and making contact.
