Your first lessonPlayer assessment and discussion of goals!!
-Basic athletic stance, grip, and ready position
-Introduction to hand-eye coordination and racquet control
-Basic forehand and backhand demonstration and initial contact drills
-Fun, simple rally games to build comfort and confidence on court
Lesson 2-3Review fundamentals from Lesson 1!!
-Improve forehand and backhand consistency
-Introduce footwork patterns and movement to the ball
-Begin basic serve progression (toss, grip, and motion)
-Cooperative rally drills to build timing and control
Lesson 4-10-Strengthen all groundstroke consistency and technique
-Develop serve consistency and introduce return of serve
-Introduce volleys and basic net play
-Learn scoring, positioning, and match fundamentals
-Begin structured point play and situational drills
-Increase rally length, control, and decision-making under pressure
Lesson 11+-Refine all strokes with continued technical adjustments
-Focus on strategy, shot selection, and court awareness
-Regular match play and competitive point situations
-Build confidence in serving, returning, and rally construction
-Personalized goals based on player strengths and improvement areas
-Preparation for leagues, school teams, or tournament play if desired
What you need to bringPlease bring comfortable athletic shoes, a water bottle, and your tennis racket if you have one. If you don’t own a racket yet, no problem- I have an extra racket available for you to use during your lesson.
