🎒 What to Bring to Class: Outdoor Tennis Checklist:
Welcome to the court! To make sure your child has a fun, safe, and high-energy session, please ensure they come packed and dressed for outdoor training.
👟 What to Wear
• Athletic Clothing: Light-colored, breathable t-shirts, athletic shorts, or tennis skirts.
• Deep Pockets: Shorts or skirts must have pockets deep enough to securely hold 2–3 tennis balls during drills.
• Tennis Shoes: Proper court shoes with flat, non-marking soles. Please avoid running shoes, as they lack the side-to-side ankle support needed for tennis and can cause trips.
• Sun Protection: A hat or visor to keep the sun out of their eyes.
🎒 What to Pack in Their Tennis Bag
• Tennis Racquet: Sized appropriately for their height. (If you don't own one yet, let me know ahead of time—I have loaner racquets available for their first few classes!)
• Big Water Bottle: A large, insulated water bottle or sports jug (at least 32oz to 64oz) filled with ice water.
• Sunscreen: SPF 50+ broad-spectrum sunscreen. Tip: A sunscreen stick is great for the face so it won't run into their eyes when they sweat.
• Small Towel: A hand towel or cooling towel to dry off during quick water breaks.
• Quick Snack: A light snack like a banana, granola bar, or orange slices for a quick energy boost.
Note: All training balls (including low-compression transition balls for younger groups), targets, and court training equipment are fully provided during the lesson.
🎾 Tennis Essentials
• The Right Balls: Red (ages 4–8), Orange (ages 8–10), or Green Dot (teens).
• Lightweight Ball Basket/Hopper: Filled with 50–75 fresh transition balls.
• Loaner Racquet Backup: One 21", 23", 25", and a standard 27" teen racquet.
🎯 Fun & Targets
• Disc Cones: At least 10–12 bright cones to build target "castles."
• Visual Targets: Hula hoops, pop-up targets, or throw-down rubber lines.
• Bluetooth Speaker: Fully charged for the high-energy musical warm-up.
☀️ Outdoor Safety & Comfort
• First Aid Kit: Band-aids, athletic tape, and instant ice packs.
• Spare Sunscreen Stick: For the face (keeps hands non-greasy).
• Cooler Bag: Extra ice water, a backup Gatorade, and a clean hand towel.
• Rewards: Fun stickers or stamps for the "Hustle Player of the Day."
