Darian is patient, helpful, and kind even when I feel uncoordinated and clumsy. He’s strengthened my technique with precision. He’s quite particular about the technique, but it works. One thing I need to work on now is my own stamina, and then i’ll be a noticeably stronger tennis player than I was before I started meeting with Darian.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI begin by assessing the player’s athletic background, comfort level, and current skills through simple, non-intimidating drills. I introduce basic grips, stance, and swing fundamentals, focusing on forehand and backhand groundstrokes. The priority is building confidence, ensuring they have fun, and creating a positive first experience that motivates them to return.
Lesson 11+We refine technique for power, spin, and accuracy while introducing more advanced tactics such as constructing points, exploiting opponents’ weaknesses, and positioning for doubles. Players gain match-play experience, improve mental focus, and develop consistency under pressure. At this stage, training becomes more tailored to the player’s personal goals, whether recreational play, competitive leagues, or tournaments.
Lesson 4-10Players develop more consistent groundstrokes and serves, begin learning topspin and slice variations, and expand footwork patterns for better court coverage. We introduce volleys, overheads, and approach shots. Lessons include more structured point play and basic singles/doubles strategy. By the end of this phase, beginners should feel confident rallying, serving, and keeping score in a friendly match.
Lesson 2-3We reinforce grips and basic stroke technique while introducing the serve and return in simple progressions. I add controlled rally drills to develop timing, consistency, and footwork fundamentals. The emphasis remains on correct form over power, while gradually introducing scoring and point play to build familiarity with the game’s flow.
