Born and raised in Marin County, I have always loved outdoor activities like surfing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. I am passionate about connecting others with the therapeutic benefits of nature and adventure. As an ISA Level 1 Surf Coach certified in ocean rescue, I have taught surf lessons for 10 years and have been surfing for over 30 years. My goal is to share my love for the ocean and help others experience the joy and healing power of surfing.

I started surfing with Nicki at the young age of 71. As you can imagine beginning to surf at that age comes with more than the usual challenges. Nicki has been a FANTASTIC coach! Not only is she an excellent and supportive teacher in terms of the physical skills you need to learn to surf but just as importantly the mental attitude required to have fun and not beat yourself up as you progress in learning a new skill. I cannot recommend her highly enough! I have also had great experiences with two of her other coaches, Steve and Sandy. If you are interested in learning how to surf don’t hesitate..contact Nicki.

Nicki was a terrific surfing teacher. After explaining some important points and doing some beach practice first which was helpful, we then went in the water, where Nicki could tell me what shifts I needed to make to be successful! She knew the perfect amount of guidance to propel me forward while keeping it fun. I appreciated her expertise, excitement, and her delight in my joy, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend Nicki!

Booked a beginner surf lesson with Nicki last weekend and I can't say enough good things!! Nicki was so friendly, welcoming and experienced. She catered the lesson to our ability levels, offering super helpful tips that had us both consistently standing up just an hour into the lesson. I immediately bought a surfboard and will be taking more lessons with Nicki to hone my skills!

Nikki was a great and thoughtful instructor. She was able to make all the different levels comfortable and seeing progress from our session. I was personally able to unlock catching a wave before it breaks thanks to Nikki. I would highly recommend her for surfing lessons!

Nicki is the best! She is not only a great surf instructor, but she teaches with soul and a deep love and appreciation for the ocean. We treated ourselves and our friend to a birthday ladies surf lesson and had a total blast!
