Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe’ll start off with a quick warm-up and hit a few balls around to see where you’re at. Then we can focus on understanding your personal goal and start learning the basic rules and shots.
Lesson 2-3Build on where we left off in the first lesson and begin learning concepts such as grip, stance and strokes to feel more consistent. We will also go over some basic movement and positioning to improve your confidence on the court.
Lesson 4-10Customize to each person’s progress and goals. We will continue to build technical skills and get comfortable with different game situations such as serving, returning, transition zone and non-volley zone (*the kitchen*). Focus on consistency, accuracy and confidence while having fun!
Lesson 11+Focus on applying the skills we’ve covered in real game situations. We will also identify areas for improvement. Then you will begin exploring with more advanced shots such as drives, drops, resets and types of volleys.
