About your pickleball coach
I am a former NCAA D2 tennis player and NCCAA D2 basketball player with a deep passion for sports. I have three years of experience as a USTA/NJTL tennis instructor, working with both youth and adult programs. As a PPR Certified Coach with a youth endorsement, I bring my expertise and enthusiasm to the court. I’m also a 4.0 pickleball player, a multiple gold medalist, and a bronze medalist in the 3.5 Men’s Singles at the Pickleball US Open. I love making pickleball fun and accessible to everyone, and I’m excited to help players of all levels improve and enjoy the game!

That was a pretty good lesson. Changing my grip a bit made a noticeable difference, especially with serving, and it really stuck with me. Though I didn’t have any specific suggestions, I’m actually hopeful about applying what I learned next time James helps me refine my game. If you're into improving your consistency on the court, I’d still consider giving James a shot.

My family got interested in Pickleball in the fall of 2023. James provided lessons for all four of us as a group. He had everything we needed as well as paddles to demo. He spent time matching physical skills to certain paddles so we all could enjoy Pickleball the best way possible.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn a 1.5 hr into to pickleball we try to cover all basics, so the students can successfully go to a court and play a beginner level game.
If you start with a package of lessons. We take more time in breakdown, each shot more in depth. We're the students will be more likely ready to play a game after the fourth or fifth lesson.
Lesson 4-10In lessons 4 through 10
We will get into gameplay and strategy in court position. As well as reviewing things that could be obstacles to students holding them back.
Lesson 2-3In here, we're breaking down volleys, dunks and serves in lessons 1 through 3.
Youth players
Working with kidsWe work on hand eye coordination, controlling touch and foot work!
