What stands out about Coach Trevoin is that he teaches more than just basketball moves. He teaches players to understand the game. He explains what to look for, why certain moves work, and when to use them. You can tell he genuinely wants his players to become smarter and more complete basketball players.

I love that I take the time to slow things down and explain not just how to do a move, but why we’re doing it, how it works, and when to use it in a game. I believe kids should understand the purpose behind every movement not just memorize the movement. That helps them become smarter, more confident players

James

Coach Trevoin creates a positive and encouraging environment while still holding players accountable. His sessions are organized, energetic, and focused on real development. He gives players specific feedback and makes sure they understand what they need to improve. Highly recommend him for any young player looking to develop their game.

Parent said “Coach Trevoin is very patient and does a great job explaining each skill. He doesn’t just show you a move and expect you to copy it he explains why it works, when to use it, and how it applies to an actual game. My child felt comfortable learning and left every session feeling more confident

Brenda

Coach Trevoin does a great job building confidence while developing basketball skills. He meets players where they are and gradually challenges them to improve. My child has become more comfortable with the ball and looks forward to every training session.

About your basketball coach

I’m Trevoin Shaw, a former forward at Paul Quinn College, where I played three seasons and earned two All-American selections, First Team All-Red River Conference, and Second Team All-Red River Conference honors. Since graduating, I’ve coached youth basketball with the Texas Legends (2023–2024) and the San Antonio Spurs (2025), leading camps, skill sessions, and clinics. I’ve also worked in game day operations, gaining valuable insight into the professional sports environment. I bring energy, discipline, and a player’s perspective to every coaching role, helping athletes grow on and off the court. I’m also actively pursuing a professional playing career, continuing to sharpen my skills and leadership for the next level.
